12 reasons why Alejna won’t be giving Marvellous Hairy to her mother-in-law

Collecting TokensThe next hilarious stop along the Virtual Tour for Marvellous Hairy is at Collecting Tokens today.

Collecting Tokens is a marvellous assemblage of anecdotes, observations and well, tokens, hosted by Alejna, a 12-year-old squid, obsessed with linguistics and pants. (In fact, I’d say her obsession with the word pants rivals my obsession with things simian.)

Here’s a clip for reason #6:

My mother-in-law would be farily scandalized by something that induced me to compose a sentence including both the words “sex” and “monkeys.”

You can find the other eleven here.

Craziest interview yet at Bookgasm

bookgasmI was quite happy to be invited for the second edition of Bookgasm’s WTF Q&A, which asked me such questions as:

  • What is the best recipe out there using Velveeta as an ingredient? But it can’t also use RO*TEL, so don’t even try.
  • Calculate the mole fraction of water in a mixture consisting of 9 grams of water, 120 grams of acetic acid and 115 grams of ethyl alcohol. Come on, tough guy, do it.

You can find all the questions (and my equally absurd answers) at the Bookgasm site.

The virtual tour continues this week at Collecting Tokens.

A fake Mark interviews a real one, and vice versa

Neonbubble -- for fake Marks and pervertsThe virtual tour continues with a stop on the other side of the pond at Neonbubble, conducted by Mark (the fake one, or actually the real one on his site).

While it can be confusing have one Mark interviewing another Mark (you might even say it could leave a mark, psychologically speaking), Mark does an admirable job of keeping us oriented (I almost said “on the mark”.) He also is quite interested in catering to his audience, which is composed largely of perverts, so the interview is laced with terms such as writing, publishing, and close-harmony singing. Disgusting!

If you haven’t had the pleasure of Neonbubble, you should definitely add it to your blogroll, or rss feed, or if you’re a pervert, your bookmarks.

The full interview is here. Feel free to drop by and join in the comments!

Virtual Book Tour for Marvellous Hairy

Announcements, Events / Comments Off

BlogTalkRadioI’ll be kicking off my “virtual” book tour today (November 9th), with an interview on Blog Talk Radio. I’ll be chatting with Rhonda and Heather from PodioRacket.com about finishing the podcast of Marvellous Hairy, what projects I’ll be podcasting next, and hopefully, a little bit about monkeys. If you’re online, please join us at 5:30 pm (EST) at Blog Talk Radio here.

I’ve also started the tour on other blogs today, starting with the marvellous Name Your Tale. This is a blog where you write in your crazy short story title, and the bloggers write a 100-word story to go with it. Sound easy? I’ve done a couple and it’s not as simple as it sounds. I did manage to pen a 100-word blurb though, which you can find here. Later in the week, I’ll be sharing a short story based on Marvellous Hairy, and on Friday, I’ll do a short (you guessed it, 100-word) interview.

And I’ll be making some other Interweb appearances, at:

Mattress Police
Cool Name to Come
5 Rivers Press
Predator Press
…plus others as we figure out the details!

Please let me know if you’d like to host me for part of the tour. You could interview me, talk about writing, publishing, or anything else you want to try. I’m easy! (Seriously, soooo easy.)
