Reviewer includes Marvellous Hairy in top four satires

Scooter Chronicles, since 2004Sure, he won’t put it up there with Philip Roth, but certainly on par with Shelf Monkey.

Here’s a clip:

Some of the lines are just hilarious. And they are not there to make the reader laugh, they are truly something that the characters would say. The situations he put a few of the characters were just great. Nothing seemed forced. It all felt natural, it all felt like a cohesive story. So well put together. Just complex enough for the staunchest of readers to enjoy, and easy enough for anyone to love. It’s like controlled anarchy, if an actual thing can exist. All I can say is that it’s a good thing when it comes to writing.

He does have some complaints about the small format (this is one of the first, actually — most people seem to like the teeny size) and, naturally, the typos, which yes, will be fiixed for the next printing!

  1. The size issue is just a matter of taste. I like big hardcover tomes. But what’s most important is the story within. And there you excelled.

Ordered a copy of Amadeus a couple of days ago. Looking forward to it!

I’ll be interested to see what you think — this was a great review.

(The format will be more to your liking, anyway.) 🙂
