"THE MEANDERINGS ... is a utopia for the silly name, a bizarre little collection of offbeat names, situations, and flat-out ridiculous that should appeal to all fans of Monty Python and Rowan Atkinson. Short but sweet, and oftentimes offensively funny, MEANDERINGS is nothing less than fun for the sake of fun."

Scene Magazine thinks we're odd
London's own Scene Magazine has written not one, but two articles about the Emily Chesley Reading Circle.  The first piece was published in December, and discussed the Meanderings.  The second was published in early February, and is about the Circle itself.

Our thanks to Scene and the writer of both articles, Susan, for letting us reprint them here.

The Meanderings is featured on CBC's Ontario Morning with Erika Ritter
Yes, the Circle insinuated itself into the body politic of the Mother Corp once again. Erika introduced the interview with our own Squire thusly:

For five years, the Emily Chesley Reading Circle has been meeting in London to research and discuss the life and works of this remarkable but neglected writer. Though born in Ireland in the mid 1800s, Emily Chesley eventually made London her home. Now, "The Meanderings of the Emily Chesley Reading Circle" has been published by the Circle's members, to try to spread the word about a hidden treasure in their midst. Mark Rayner, a founding member of the Circle, came into our London bureau to tell us more. [ mp3 file - 1.3 meg]

Emily Chesley: The Play?
Yes, it's true.  A theatre group based in St. Catharines created a play based on the life of Emily Chesley. The Squire collaborated with this mad band of thespians, called, Suitcase In Point.   The show, "Cordially Entertaining Emily Chesley" has had two runs and who knows what the future holds?

You can see a poster here.

An earlier version of the Suitcase in Point poster for the show is available here.

The Circle is proud to introduce its store, The Frolics Trunk. Damn the Norwegians! t-shirts are on sale this month!

Congratulations to K. A. Corlett, winner of the 2002 Tundra Prize.
