The 7th Royal Jedburgh Thespian Reivers

The 7th Royal Jedburgh Thespian Reivers by crowolfThe 7th Royal Jedburgh Thespian Reivers, pictured in their December 1918 performance of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”. A photo by crowolf.

by John “Jay” Glenn, channeling Toulouse Le Grandfig

Everyone in the the 7th Royal Jedburgh Thespian Reivers agreed the American cavalryman that had bravely volunteered to play the role of Nick Bottom was the cat’s pajamas.

But Ned’s stunning portrayal of Titania, Queen of the Fairies, would have outshone them all had it not been tragically truncated by the resumption of German artillery barrages. Ned was never the same.

Also pictured, Jonathan Colmore as Mote, Billy Campbell as Cobweb and John Craw as Peasblossom. not pictured, James “Nebless Jim” Armstrong as Mustardseed (who was in hospital with trenchnose at the time of the performance).

Alltop is a humor barrage. Thanks to Crowolf for the pic and story!
