The Tundra Prize
Winner, 2002

The Emily Chesley Reading Circle announces with great pride, the winner of our Annual Dr. Maximilian Tundra Memorial Poetry and Short Speculative Fiction Contest.

K.A. Corlett's "Burial Practice" has won the 2002 Tundra Prize.

"The purple perfection of the prose! The perfect capturing of the way the practioners of the art of interment really talk when slip-sliding around an inverted coffin. Had the speculative element only been stronger, this might have been written by the Mistress herself. "

-- Ed Willett, Canadian SF author and judge for 2002 Tundra Prize

Laudable Mentions went to:

  • Ernest Reimer for "The Necrophone Incident"
  • Adam H. Dooley for "Lars the Schleswigian Anarchist"
  • Darren Moore for "The Knotted Post"

No other prizes were awarded in either category.

Watch on the Fiction & Poetry part of the site for these stories and more.
