Sirs,
Has the Reading Circle fully considered the influences that Emily Chesley has had on the arts. I speak not just of the obvious effects of her justifiably lauded speculationist writings but of her life itself.

My research has indicated that the impact of Emily Chesley has been both overwhelming and under-reported. In fact recent findings indicate that while a substantial level of plagiarizing of her speculative works has occurred, her life itself has been the fodder for the activities of some unscrupulous hacks.

I bring to your attention the enclosed comic strip, which appears to date from the 1960's. It presents its protagonist as a combination of a female Captain Kirk and Little Annie Fannie. I propose that it is little more than a thinly veiled retelling of the Emily Chesley biography and I have enclosed my research notes for your perusal. However I leave the final judgement to your capable evaluation,
