Welcome! In a complex and intellectually rigourous society such as The Emily Chesley Reading Circle, certain habits and traditions develop rather quickly. We have two documents that help us in this regard, which we recommend you read. The Covenant, our foundational document, and the Codex, which attempts to outline evoloving guidelines and codes of behaviour for the Circle. In addition to the materials in the Covenenant and Codex, we have, like any other collection of jaundiced equals, unwritten codes of behaviour as well. (For example, not "reading" someone else's book without asking first. This need not be written down, except for Dr. Tundra, and he has sadly passed on.) This leads us to another topic in Whaaa? Dr. Tundra, our most "inspirational" member. We encourage you to delve into our member's biographies, our collections of links, and we offer the ubiquitous FAQ.
